(Break) Its only a matter of time! Its gonna get you too I know how to shut a door I wasn't raised in a zoo Ive been around the block at least a couple of times Yeh they say that its changed Jack! But show me one thing that don't They say good things come in threes (yeah) They take me by surprise And I Can Tell They Enjoy By the look in their eyes They salivate at the mouth tryin to figure it out Im always on the move Tryin to make it down south! Im gonna break it down real quick Cos Im running out of time Feels like Im getting sea sick I don't wanna stand in this line They tried to pour me some gin she tried to make me drink wine Bot I spit it right out now tell that's not a SIGN!

about

Formed in 2012 while working together in downtown Manhattan, Savants began as an experimental recording project in studios across Williamsburg and Greenpoint Brooklyn. Consisting of bassist Mitch Wilson, drummer Charlie Porter , vocalist / guitarist Tony Prins, and multi instrumentalist / producer Joe Kimono, their first release was recorded on tape machines and mixed with samples resurfaced from thrift store records, cassettes, and reels. Released on cassette as 7 and eventually as a full length, the early recordings were influenced by Syd Barrett to Devo to Neu!

Recorded mostly in a studio in southside Williamsburg around the corner from the now defunct Glasslands and Death by Audio, the band’s 2015 eponymous full length release drew early comparisons in press to Lou Reed and the Doors. Off the strength of the record the band played over 100 live shows throughout Brooklyn and the LES, landing on bills at Music Hall of Williamsburg, Bowery Ballroom and Rough Trade alongside contemporaries such as Allah Las, Bodega Bay, and Worthless.

The band began collaborating with Narnack Records in 2016, resulting in trips to Los Angeles for extended time to experiment in the studio. Collaborating with bands on live to tape sessions while in studio in East LA, the first release with the label was a split 7 inch with Tomorrows Tulips in April 2017. Recorded over a month in early 2017 at Narnack Studios, the band engineered and produced their first studio album New Junk City, with production credits going to Joe Kimono. The New Junk City vinyl was released internationally in June of 2019.
